Visit Our School

A visit to the Waldorf School of Baltimore is an important part of deciding if a Waldorf education is right for your child. Initially, you'll notice the beauty of our hallways and classrooms. What makes a more lasting impression, however, is the sense of purpose and joy people notice as students move throughout the campus – as they arrive to begin the day, as they travel between classes, and as they depart in the afternoon.

Our open houses are held on Sunday, October 12 at 2:00pm (for Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten) and Sunday, November 9 at 2:00pm (for pre-k through grade 11).

Directions to the Waldorf School of Baltimore

The Waldorf School of Baltimore is located at 4801 Tamarind Road, Baltimore, MD 21209. It is set in the community of Coldspring Newtown, adjacent to Cylburn Arboretum, and the Mount Washington neighborhood, and southeast of Sinai Hospital. The school can be reached from Northern Parkway or Cold Spring Lane.

From Charles Street on Cold Spring Lane, heading west - after crossing onto the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83), take a right at the first light, Tamarind Road. Follow Tamarind Road to the top of the hill. The Waldorf School Tamarind Building (home of the elementary school) can be seen straight ahead. It is a large white building with a copper-colored roof. To reach the Waldorf School Yellowwood Building (home to the early childhood and upper school programs) take the first left at the top of the hill onto Yellowwood Avenue. Continue on Yellowwood for one block, then turn right into a small parking lot. Free parking is available in the lot and on the street. You can reach the Yellowwood Building by taking the steps at the back of the lot.

From Charles Street on Northern Parkway, heading west - cross over the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83) and continue to the first light, Greenspring Avenue. Take a left onto Greenspring Avenue and continue to the next light, Springgarden Drive. Make a left. (Please note that the street to the right is named differently.) T o get to the Tamarind Building, follow Springgarden Drive to the end, where there is a stop sign. Take a right onto Tamarind Road. The Waldorf School of Baltimore will be a short distance ahead on the left. It is a large white building with a copper-colored roof.

From the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83) - take either Cold Spring Lane west or Northern Parkway west and follow the above directions.
