Edna Emmet will sponsor a spring after-school robotics program. This session, we will be partnering with two Friends School high school students. Nathan LaClair, a sophomore and Waldorf Alum, and Jimena Gualar-Blasco, a junior, are experienced Robotics team members.
Introduction to Robotics Afterschool Program open to Grades 6-7
Start Date: Monday, April 15 (program will run for 9 sessions, on Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 PM except for Monday 22 when school is closed. The last day will be May 15.
The aim of the program is to introduce the students to robotics and be inspired by high school students who participate on a robotics’ team. The students will be exposed to basic elements of mechanics, electronics, physics and programming. Most of the materials used will be based on the VEX robotics curriculum (http://www.roboticseducation.org/vex-robotics-competitionvrc/) thus providing the students a possibility to participate, in high school, in the annual VEX Robotics competition. The students are expected to be self-motivated, enjoy problem solving (there will be plenty) and committed to team work.
Space is limited for this program and students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, so please enroll right away if interested. If your child is also enrolled in afterschool sports, there will be a reduced fee. Please email Cecilia Liss for details. email@example.com.
