Drawing from life

A six-session, afternoon still-life drawing class taught be Zachary Thornton, Faculty sponsor: Edna Emmet.
Tuesdays from 3:30-5, February 5 – March 12.  Cost $100. Fee includes supplies.

The focus of this class is to draw still-life subjects from live observation. Students will learn to observe and depict simple objects accurately and beautifully. I will guide students towards attaining a clear understanding of basic concepts such as line, form, value, proportion and composition—which can be applied to ever more ambitious subjects and lighting scenarios. I will provide objects natural and man-made from which to work. We will begin with one simple object and expand each class as our skills grow. Mediums will include pencil and charcoal.

Spaces are limited. To secure a space, please send in attached registration form to the attention of Cecilia Liss by Thursday, January 31st Make checks out to Zachary Thornton.
Zachary Thornton is an alumnus of Waldorf School of Baltimore and MICA. Zachary has taught afterschool classes at WSB and has exhibited his artwork around the world since 2003.
