Peg Rawle earned a BA from Oberlin College and a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law. She studied at the University in Munich, Germany, for a year, and took courses for certification in Early Childhood Education at Towson University. This has enabled Peg to have a varied professional career that includes teaching kindergarten, directing day care centers, working as a Maryland Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Human Resources, as an attorney in private practice, consulting for the Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, D.C., and the Maryland Systems Reform Initiative. She is also a former Administrator of the Waldorf School of Baltimore. Volunteer activities include founder of HOPE of Carroll County, membership on the Board of the Maryland Committee for Children and Chair of a Governor’s Task Force on Day Care, as well as past Treasurer and President of the Board of Trustees of this school. The wonderful experience of her grandchildren here at Waldorf and the importance of education in her own life inspire Peg to continue her commitment as a volunteer.
