Q. Is social-emotional learning the foundation of success?
A. "Focusing on social and emotional skills is correlated with graduation rates, academic success, career success, mental health and citizen engagement... learning as much about good social and emotional behavior as you do about reading, writing and arithmetic is directly beneficial to virtually every aspect of the human experience." http://ow.ly/hJRm30nhAx3

Teachers, may we know them, love them, and adequately appreciate them! Great feature on Spanish teacher Raquel Castilla of the Santa Fe Waldorf School.
“Inspiring youth is the only thing that feels meaningful to me as a job in the world right now. It’s very important to me that young people feel inspired about the world and inspired to change it.” http://ow.ly/NZfd30neBb9

Q. What is the world' s Ultimate Superpower?
A. " It’s reading, of course. [It] gives us the ability to go to the moon, travel through time, fight harrowing battles, and live amongst royalty. With it, we can warp reality, solve complex scientific equations, build skyscrapers, cure diseases, and ultimately, change the course of our future!" http://ow.ly/meyw30neFw2

Weekend To Do list: Focus on "right now".
"Empathy and caring are skills to be learned... The most important parenting work is done not only when we have serious, meaningful conversations with our kids, but just as often when we simply play with them, read to them, argue with them, joke with them, or hang out together." http://ow.ly/ogC230neF38
