Green School
For more than a century, Waldorf education has maintained a strong focus on immersing children in the outdoors to promote a love of nature. At the Waldorf School of Baltimore we have transformed this core belief into a formal, concerted effort to instill stewardship, appreciation, and love for all living things by intertwining our educational experience with the land around us.

The Waldorf School of Baltimore proudly holds Maryland's highest certification in eco-education as a Certified Sustainable MAEOE Green School, and we are honored to be recognized as a National Department of Education Green Ribbon School. This prestigious designation highlights schools across the country that excel in reducing environmental impact, enhancing the health and wellness of students and staff, and providing meaningful sustainability education.

May we raise children who love the unloved things—the dandelion, the worms and spiderlings. Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards sun…
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things, and be the ones.
