May Day – at your doorstep and in your home!!  

May Day (also our Family Day) is a beloved tradition in the Waldorf community, and the Festivals Committee would like to capture some of the spirit of May Day and bring it into your homes. We have a list of suggested activities below and invite you to participate, purely voluntarily, in any the following ways: 

Current and former families may join our WSB FB community page https://www.facebook.com/groups/222738231468899/ to follow May Day as it unfolds. Others may follow on our official school page.  
Dress in festive Spring colors 
Learn and sing the May Day songs with your family (words attached "May Day Songs") 
Make your Grandparents or other family members a postcard to mail or email  
Make flowers to decorate your home from materials you have
Make crowns for your family 
Create and share a May Day basket (details of these three crafts in the attachment "May Day Crafts and Activities")

On Friday May 1st, watch for our short online May Day presentation at 10:30am featuring the crowning of our 2020 May Day King and Queen and other treats.  This will be posted on FB and sent via email. Feel free to take pictures of your crowns, postcards, baskets and flowers and upload to the community FB page May Day post on May 1st or mail them to Jo at development@twsb.org for her to post.   Happy Spring!
