Weekly Summer Story Time at Snug Books

Baltimore's newest FREE summer tradition happens Wednesdays through August!

Join us at Snug Books in Lauraville for a weekly Story & Circle Time created especially for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their grown-ups.

Each week, one of our Waldorf Early Childhood teachers will share two beautiful stories, then lead little ones in songs, finger plays, movement, and joyful seasonal rhythms.

Summer brings with it long afternoons, fewer routines, and that familiar refrain: "I'm bored."

None of this means screen-free parenting is easy. Far from it.

So we turned to the experts: fellow Waldorf parents for ten simple strategies that have helped their families reduce screen time, encourage independent play, and make the most of the slower rhythm of summer.

Friday, May 29, 2026 was a big day for hugs....

On Friday, the Waldorf School of Baltimore graduated the Class of 2026. This is a class of remarkably well-rounded young people : visual artists, woodworkers, chemists, fiber artists, actors, campers, environmental stewards, mathematicians, writers, poets, researchers, historians, and truly kind, empathetic humans.

This year’s 8th grade class play, Baskerville, is one of those rare performances where you genuinely forget you are watching middle school students. To find their killer, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must unravel a tangled mystery before a family curse claims its newest heir… but the real marvel is watching seven students leap, spin, disguise, accent-shift, and transform their way through more than 40 wildly distinct characters.

On Friday, April 24, Arbor Day came to life in the best possible way at the Waldorf School of Baltimore.

Baltimore City Forestry officers joined us outside, reading aloud a proclamation about Arbor Day's origins while students from grades 1 through 8 gathered in a circle around them. Then came a planting demonstration of a new native elm, chosen for its fast growth and the shade it will one day bring to the Cherry Tree play yard.

Every year, the third grade farm trip delivers something memorable. This year, it delivered two moments nobody saw coming.

Like generations of Waldorf third graders before them, the kids rose early, tended animals, harvested crops, helped cook meals, cleaned up after themselves, and figured out what they're made of when home is a little farther away than usual.

Our Parent & Child classes are designed to help parent/guardians better understand and care for their young child(ren), while allowing toddlers the chance to interact in small group settings in a warm homelike environment.

Eight Friday classes from 9:00 am - 11:00 am each day.

The Waldorf School of Baltimore invites families from all across Baltimore to celebrate Earth Week with KidStock, a morning of live music, environmental education, and hands-on eco activities on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
