Kayla joined the Waldorf School of Baltimore in Fall of 2021 after many spiritual signs directing her to us! She completed coursework at Notre Dame of Maryland University, majoring in Political Science and International Relations. She has studied abroad in Ireland, participated in student-led conferences on climate change at the United Nations, and is a life-long advocate for human rights. Kayla nannied for 3 years and led a homeschool pod during the first year of the pandemic following a forest school curriculum she created. After realizing her natural affinity for caring for young children, she found her life’s calling in teaching early childhood education and became strongly interested in Nature-Based Pedagogy and the Scandinavian model of Forest Schools. This year, Kayla will be the lead Coordinator for our Forest AfterCare program. Kayla is a certified Wilderness First Responder through NOLS, and will have completed both Level 1 & 2 of ERAFANS Nature-Based Teacher Certifications this summer. Kayla is a lover of literature, history, and all things spiritual and metaphysical! In her spare time she loves to hike, explore, and tell stories through her photography.
