Brenda earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching from MICA, and holds certifications for art K–12, and social studies. She has been around Waldorf Education from birth as she grew up on the campus of a residential Waldorf School for children with special needs and attended the Kimberton Waldorf School through the 12th grade. Brenda taught for New Orleans Public School, Baltimore City Public schools, ran the highly successful and award-winning local fine-dining restaurant The Chameleon Cafe with her husband, Jeff, and joined the faculty at The Waldorf School of Baltimore in 2009. She taught high school art as well as working in administration. Her career took her towards teaching academics such as the history of architecture and science, after which she became the 7th grade teacher and continued with that class through 8th grade. Brenda has taken multiple courses to deepen her knowledge of the Waldorf curriculum as well as strategies applicable to teaching in the grades. She taught the 8th Grade Class of 2025 from 1st through 5th grade before becoming our new Executive Director as of July 1, 2022. Both her daughters attended the Waldorf School of Baltimore. Brenda served as a full voting member on WSB's Board of Trustees from 2017-2021. She is now an ex-officio member..
