Student Support Services

For students who benefit from additional support, our Student Support Group (SSG) offers an intermediate level of assistance. While the SSG helps address a range of learning needs, it may not fully support all aspects of complex learning differences.

Supporting Student Progress

At the Waldorf School of Baltimore, our Student Support Group is rooted in the understanding that every child grows in their own time and way. Guided by Waldorf pedagogy and the natural unfolding of child development, we strive to meet each student with care, insight, and thoughtful support that keeps them meaningfully engaged in their learning journey.

Working closely together, Class Teachers and Student Support Group members observe students in the life of the classroom and school to identify those who may benefit from additional guidance. We also deeply value the insights of parents and caregivers—if you have concerns about your child’s academic or developmental progress, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s Class Teacher or our Academic Director, Brian Jaques

Together, we can determine the best next steps to ensure that each child is seen, supported, and able to thrive.

Dedicated Teachers Offer Extra Support

The SSG consists of dedicated teachers who provide extra academic or developmental support to students. Our objectives encompass:

We need to reach that happy stage of our development when differences and diversity are not seen as sources of division and distrust, but of strength and inspiration.– Josefa Iloilo
