Why Families Visit WSB
Choosing a school is about much more than comparing programs or test scores. It is about finding a place where your child will be known, challenged, and inspired to grow. Families often arrive at WSB with questions about Waldorf education. They leave talking about the feeling they had watching children learn.
Childhood
Children only get one childhood. At WSB, we believe those years should be protected, not rushed. Our youngest students spend their days immersed in imaginative play, stories, movement, music, nature, and meaningful work, while older students gradually take on new academic challenges as they are developmentally ready. We believe a joyful childhood is not separate from an excellent education. It is the foundation for one.
Learning
Learning at WSB is active, purposeful, and deeply engaging. Students don't simply memorize information. They write, build, experiment, perform, create, ask questions, and solve problems. Whether a kindergartner is baking bread, a fifth grader is studying North American geography, or an eighth grader is conducting a chemistry experiment, learning is designed to spark curiosity, strengthen understanding, and build confidence.
Community

Windows into Waldorf: Small Group Tours
The best way to understand WSB is by spending an ordinary morning with us.
Families with children ages 2½ through rising 8th graders are invited to explore our classrooms, meet our teachers, and see the joy of learning in action at the Waldorf School of Baltimore. Experience how imagination, nature, and academics come together to nurture each child’s head, heart, and hands.
Walk through classrooms while children are immersed in meaningful work. Wander woodland trails. Meet current parents over coffee. Ask every question you've been carrying. By the end of your visit, you'll know far more than any website could ever tell you.

Waldorf 101 Online Open House
New to Waldorf?
In just 30 minutes, you'll learn the ideas that make Waldorf education different, ask your questions in a relaxed setting, and leave with a much clearer sense of whether it's the right fit for your family.
Join Admissions Director Ilene Wise for an online introduction into what makes Waldorf so wonderful. We will explore 14 highlights of a progressive Waldorf School of Baltimore Education, leaving time for a question and answer session at the end. This thirty minute bite-sized Zoom is the perfect starting place on your admissions journey. Hosted 2x monthly throughout the year.
Virtual Open Houses run from 2:00 - 2:30p.m.

Parent & Child Classes
Discover why play is the serious work of childhood and is an essential part of the Waldorf early childhood classroom while experiencing the flow and form of a morning which echoes the rhythms and routines of our Early Childhood Preschool Program.
For families with children 9 months to 3 years.
Children will enjoy various activities including bread baking, shared snack, morning circle, and indoor and outdoor free play lead by an experienced Early Childhood teacher.
Our Parent & Child classes are designed to help parent/guardians better understand and care for their young child(ren), while allowing toddlers the chance to interact in small group settings in a warm homelike environment.
