Capital Campaign-Outdoor Classrooms

Phase III: Forest Kindergarten

We're Growing.

The Waldorf School of Baltimore is celebrating 50 years in the Baltimore community.

Waldorf is expanding! Aligned with the commitments laid forth in our Strategic Plan, Phase III of our Capital Campaign is well underway, providing new and improved spaces and equipment to enhance all students’ outdoor learning experiences and appreciation for the natural world. Among these additions is the new Forest K outdoor base, called Chestnut Woods, nestled in the urban woodlands at the edge of our campus. Stone steps lead down to a wooden Cabin House, wildflowers were planted, and natural boulders and logs placed to provide terracing and an open-air amphitheater among the trails. Here the familiar, tried and true Waldorf Kindergarten curriculum of circle time and stories, painting and craft work, practical skills and social exploration play out completely immersed in nature. A beautiful locker-room for use during extreme weather and with easy access to ADA-compliant restrooms is currently near completion. Generous community giving has brought us to 85% of our half a million dollar goal – and thanks to a matching grant, your financial act of kindness will have double the impact this Spring. Every contribution, large or small, will be matched by anonymous donors. Every gift affirms our foundations and is an investment in our future. With your help we can celebrate our fiftieth birthday with a fully funded outdoor Kindergarten.

Feeling inspired? Then please donate to our Capital campaign, to raise the additional $60K needed to furnish this area.
