Colleen Vernon introduced herself to her kindergarten teacher by saying “My name is Colleen, and I love to sing and dance!” Her enjoyment of music and movement eventually led to a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, and a Master’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Orff Schulwerk from West Chester University.   Since then, Colleen has instructed Music Together, elementary general music, middle school creative movement, swing dance for midshipmen at the US Naval Academy, swing dance for adults through Baltimore’s Mobtown Ballroom, workshops for music educators, and therapeutic music classes for seniors.  Her students have ranged from age 0 to age 103 and everywhere in between!  Colleen’s wide range of experience includes dance forms from many different countries and time periods. She is a 3-time winner of Electric Slide competitions, and went viral on YouTube for her Spiderman swing dance routine.  Colleen also enjoys obstacle course racing, reading, and spending time with her family.
